Summer Camp 2020

Summer Camp 2020

As the leading holiday camp provider in the area we are committed to delivering our summer camp programme and are delighted to confirm bookings are now live for Summer 2020!

Summer Camp 2020 will operate out of Edgbarrow School and Sports Centre, and run under renewed operational procedures in line with national guidance to ensure we provide a Covid Secure environment for families and staff. Further information can be found in our FAQ section. Those who have booked their children into summer camp can read details of our new arrival and departure routines, and other important information here.

What is on offer?

We offer you a 5-day camp (Mon – Fri), and a 3-day camp (Tues – Thurs) option; both must be booked as a block booking for the particular week you need childcare. We are limiting group sizes and working in bubbles. Each camp will consist of two bubbles containing 2 staff members and 15 children each.  Bubbles will not mix with each other during the week, each bubble with have their own designated indoor and outdoor space, and each bubble will have their own selection of equipment and resources.

Bubbles will be created based on age ranges (5 – 8 and 9 – 13 years), to enable us to plan appropriate activities, this means siblings may not be in the same bubble. Should parents want their children in the same bubble please email us at and let us know.

We are sorry to say we cannot guarantee friends will be in the same bubble, and given we are back working full time in school, we will not have the time to respond to multiple requests about this. However, if you know that your child is attending the same camp with a group of friends, we suggest one parent from that group emails us and let’s us know. We will do what we can, but again, no guarantees are offered.

Given the current restrictions on contact sport we are not offering our usual football only camp option, instead all camps will follow a similar programme to our multi-sports camp, which will include an element of football skills training.

Children who have not yet had the chance to return to school will be experiencing a new environment, they may be anxious about their strange new surroundings, and they might need additional time to reengage socially. For this reason we have built in some additional child-led playtime to give children the chance to explore their new world at their own pace. Please note all child-led activity is supervised, children are never left alone.

What are the times?

Camps will operate with one set of timings, this being 8.30am to 6.00pm. However, to support social distancing parents can drop off their children anytime between 8.30am and 9.30am, and collect anytime from 4.00pm.

What if the camp I want to book is full?

We may be in a position to offer additional bubbles, and for this reason we are operating a waitlist. To get on the waitlist you need to enter our booking system via the link below, and select the waitlist option you require (i.e. 3-Day Camp, Week 2). Please ensure you follow the waitlist booking process right through to the payment page (there is no charge of course), otherwise your waitlist request will not be saved on the system. Please note:

  • We will not respond to waitlist requests received by email, you must follow the procedure stated above
  • If you no longer need your place on the waitlist please let us know
  • If you are successfully moved off the waitlist and into your desired camp, you will have 24-hours to confirm your booking. Any bookings not confirmed within this time will be cancelled, the place will then be offered to the next person on the waitlist

Anything else I need to know?

Yes there is. You need to know where your bubble drop off/collection point is, you need to know what will happen should a child within a bubble tests positive for Covid-19, and you need to know what your can and can’t bring to camp. All parents/carers who have successfully booked a place at Summer Camp 2020 will receive an email detailing everything they need to know. This email will be sent one week prior to your camp start date. If you do not receive the email, firstly check in your spam folder, and secondly contact to let us know.

So, whilst Summer Camp 2020 will feel strange to begin with we hope the new norm will be easy for the children to adapt to. From our experience of running key worker camps during Easter and May half term, we discovered that despite the restrictions and new routines, we were still able to provide the fun, relaxed, happy, safe place that children and parents have come to expect – we will ensure summer camp is no different!

PLEASE NOTE: Parents who select childcare vouchers, bank transfer or the tax-free scheme as their payment method will have 7-days to ensure their booking is confirmed. Where payment hasn’t been received within this time, and if the parent has not been in touch with us to explain why, your booking may be cancelled and offered to someone on the waitlist.

(Please note that summer camp is provisional until we hear the latest national guidance being delivered on 6th July. Should Government decide we cannot operate, a full refund will be made to those who paid by debit/credit card, and a full credit note will be offered to those who paid via childcare vouchers or bank transfer.)
